Didnt sony's electronics blog just post a couple weeks ago that they were NOT discontinuing the alpha? http://news.sel.sony.com/electronicsblog/?p=9 I dont think i believe any of this discontinuing and recalling stuff going around. Why would it make sense for them to discontinue a camera which was named camera of the year in pop photo mag. for last year? They would loose a LOT of business if customers saw that they were doing that, i know I for one would sell my alpha and buy a canon if that were the deal... now wait a minute here!
