I strongly recommend that you turn the No Follow off in your comment section. I'll watch Google Webmaster Tools, and if the links don't show up after a couple of weeks --- I won't go back to that blog again. Another suggestion: you should have a Top Commentator widget installed. Do Follow and Top Commentator will ensure that you have a successful blog with lots of readers!

After reviewing the online User's Manual for the Alpha 200, (on the SONY site for about a week - no longer posted) I found that it specifically avoided any mention of a PC-sync port. So, like you suspect, it's just NOT there. Why in the world they would repeat this glaring mistake is still beyond me. With the manual's removal ... they may be redoing the manual.

Although, when I directly hook up my PC-sync cable between my A700 and one of my studio-strobes, the strobe starts going off intermittantly, whenever I touch the camera body.

My A100, with that third-party hot shoe, does NOT do this ... so the problem appears to be limited to the A700 and some feedback level with the direct sync-wire.

This intermittant flashing does NOT happen with the PocketWizards Plus2s either, so you know my solution ... and $400 later, no direct cabling. Something is fishy, there. I'm wondering is anyone else is having problems along these lines. It might explain why the PC-sync is missing on the A200. Who knows? It's just what I have personally experienced.

It definitely will require some more research and probably access to another A700, for more exacting testing. I may even have to buy some kind of "buffer cable" to place inbetween the A700 and the Studio strobe, if I go back to direct. Heck, it could be a simple matter of 'grounding', but the cable should provide that. It's very annoying ... having that strobe constantly going off like that.

Anyway, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
