Photoshop uses “Adobe Camera Raw” (Camera Raw.plugin) to open RAW files. The current version, ACR 4.4.1, supports the A700. You do need CS3 to use this version. You can also download the DNG converter and convert A700 files to the DNG RAW format, then open in a older Photoshop. Happy editing!

Dear Sir,

In ref. to “Sony Alpha A700 files (RAW and cRAW) now natively supported in Mac OSX 10.5.2”.

I exchanged my Alpha-100 by an Alpha-700, and upgraded my MAC to Leopard. Now, my RAW files I can open in IDC SR and Preview, but not directly in Photoshop, as I was used to do with the RAW files generated by the Alpha-100. I would like to know if you have an explanation for that, please.
