Exploring the world of Sony and Minolta SLRs from a user’s persepctive.

Tom Bonner has been photographing with Minolta equipment since 1973. Tom works as a web designer and photographer in Gastonia, NC.

Hi. Thanks for visiting. I’m Tom Bonner and I’ve been shooting with Minolta SLRs for more than thirty years. I’ve watched the camera industry evolve from film to digital and I’ve been fourtunate to own and use many of the ground-breaking SLRs from Minolta.

When Minolta transfered their photo business to Sony in 2006, I wasn’t sure that Sony was up to the task of following in the footsteps of the world’s most innovative camera company…but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. So far, I’m more than a little impressed by the Alpha dSLRs.

Alphatracks is my attempt to follow Sony’s maneuvers in the dSLR market, and at the same time provide a resource for Minolta film and digital SLR users.

If you have tips, ideas or even complaints about Alphatracks, be sure to let me know through e-mail or leaving a comment.

A-mount shooters have to watch each other’s backs, because there aren’t as many of us. At least not for now….

I have used Minolta gear for years from the 70001 to the 600si and now have a Sony a350. I have a 5400HS flash which I’m told is not compatible with Sony Alphas. However I procured an adapter which I installed into my flash and it seems to work perfectly! I cost me about 30 euros and came from someone named Voitsch in Germany
